Alzarri Joseph broke a 11 year old record to produce best bowling figures in a debut match in Indian Premier League (IPL). Joseph broke the record of Pakistani pacer Sohail Tanvir who had the figures of 6-14 against Chennai Super Kings. Joseph finished with 6-12 which included a wicket maiden in his very first over when he picked the wicket of David Warner.
Mumbai Indians won the match by 40 runs eventually. Chasing a target of 137 runs to win, Hyderabad were bundled out for 96 runs with Joseph picking up 6 wickets. Rahul Chahar chipped in with 2 wickets while Jasprit Bumrah and Jason Behrendorff shared a wicket each.
Earlier the day, Sunrisers won the toss and invited Mumbai to bat first. Mumbai batting didn’t get going throughout the innings before Kieron Pollard blasted a few boundaries in the final overs. Pollard remained unbeaten on 46 runs off 26 balls.
