Kolkata stay alive with playoff chances, KXIP knocked out

Kings XI Punjab has been knocked out off the playoff chances in the ongoing VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) following a defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets. With this win, KKR are alive in the race to the playoffs while Punjab’s chances to playoffs is finished.

KKR chased down a target of 184 runs with 7 wickets and 2 overs to spare. Player of the Match Shubman Gill scored an unbeaten 65 runs off 49 balls which included 5 fours and 2 sixes. Chris Lynn played well for his 46 while Andre Russell once again chipped in with 14 ball 24 with 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Earlier, KXIP finished on 183/6 from their allotted 20 overs. Sam Curran was the top scorer for Punjab with 55 runs while Nicholas Pooran scored 48 runs. Sandeep Warrier picked up 2 wickets while Gurney, Nitish and Russell shared a wicket each for Kolkata.
